Bookassist is a Dublin-based hospitality technology company, founded in 1999 and now part of Jonas Hospitality. It provides a booking engine that integrates with hotels' websites, along with conversion-focused web design, digital marketing, distribution strategy, analytics and consultancy. Its customers include independent hotels in Ireland, the UK and elsewhere in Europe.

## Agencies that run the whole website

Bookassist often designs and runs the hotel's website as well as its booking engine. That can help agents: when one company controls both the homepage and the engine, the link between them is usually clear and consistent. It also means the hotel's settings for AI crawlers and bot protection may sit with the provider rather than the hotel.

## Status in the Agent Booking Index

**Not yet tested.** No Bookassist hotels were in the 20 October pilot.

## What to check if your hotel uses Bookassist

- Does your website's robots.txt allow AI search crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot?
- Who controls bot protection on your website and booking engine?
- Can an AI agent get from your homepage to a priced room for two named nights?

## What this means for AI recommendations

Bookassist hotels are often well set up for direct bookings. For AI recommendations, what matters is whether AI can read your rooms and prices on your own site, not only inside the booking flow.
