# TripAdvisor and AI recommendations

> TripAdvisor pages are among the sources AI assistants cite most for travel questions. What that means for hotels, restaurants and attractions.

TripAdvisor has millions of reviews and rankings for hotels, restaurants and attractions, and its pages appear often in the sources AI assistants cite for travel questions.

## Why AI uses it

It's large, structured and covers almost everywhere. For "things to do" and "where to eat" questions, it's an easy source of names, rankings and review summaries.

## What to check

- Is your listing claimed?
- Are your name, address, hours and category correct?
- Are recent photos and a description in place?
- Do you reply to reviews, especially ones with factual errors?

## Keep it in proportion

TripAdvisor is one source among several. Google, booking platforms and local guides matter as much, and in the US, Yelp often matters more for restaurants.
