_UK and US · Updated 2026-10-27 · Akkrev, https://akkrev.com/compare/google-reviews-vs-tripadvisor-for-ai/_

| | Google reviews | TripAdvisor |
|---|---|---|
| Used most by | Gemini, AI Overviews, AI Mode | Assistants answering travel and "things to do" questions |
| Strength | Volume, recency, tied to Maps | Travel focus, rankings, long reviews |
| Matters most for | Restaurants, cafés, local "near me" questions | Hotels, attractions, tourist areas |
| Weakness | Short reviews | Less used by locals |

## The answer

Both, with Google first for most venues. If you're in a tourist area or run an attraction, TripAdvisor matters more. In the US, add Yelp for restaurants.
