How to check if ChatGPT recommends your restaurant

A simple way to see whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity name your restaurant, and what to record so you can tell if it's changing.
You can check in ten minutes. The trick is to ask the questions your diners actually ask, not your restaurant’s name.
1. Write the questions
Think like a diner who doesn’t know you yet:
- “Best [cuisine] in [area]?”
- “Where to eat in [area] for [occasion]?”
- “Good restaurant near [landmark or station]?”
- “[Dish] in [town]?” if you’re known for one.
Aim for five to ten.
2. Ask each assistant
Use ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. Start a fresh chat for each question, and don’t mention your restaurant.
3. Record
For every answer, note whether you were named, in which position, who else was named, and which sites were cited.
4. Repeat
AI answers vary from day to day. Run the same questions weekly. The trend matters more than any single answer.
