Vegan, gluten-free and halal: dietary questions in AI search
Updated By Akkrev
Dietary questions are some of the most common restaurant prompts in AI assistants. How AI answers them and what decides which places get named.
“Vegan restaurant in Brighton”, “gluten-free bakery in Bath”, “halal steakhouse in Birmingham”. Dietary questions are specific, high intent and often poorly answered.
How AI answers
It looks for places described with those words: on Google attributes, menus, reviews, and specialist sites and guides.
Why good places get missed
A restaurant with a great vegan menu that only says “plant-based options available” can be skipped for “vegan restaurant”. A gluten-free kitchen that doesn’t say “dedicated” loses coeliac diners.
What helps
State your dietary offer in plain words in your listings, on your menu page and in your description. Reviews that mention it help AI trust it.
