AI is getting facts about my hotel wrong. What now?
Updated By Akkrev
Wrong parking, pet or price details in ChatGPT and Gemini answers cost hotels bookings. Where errors come from and how to find the source.
AI assistants repeat what they read. When a guest asks “does [hotel] have parking?” and the answer is wrong, the error came from somewhere.
Common errors
- Parking: “free” when you charge, or “none” when you have it.
- Pets: allowed or not, and fees.
- Prices without VAT or fees.
- Room types that no longer exist.
- A closed restaurant still listed as open.
Where they come from
OTA listings that weren’t updated, old reviews, travel articles from years ago, and your own site, if it says different things on different pages.
Find the source
Ask Perplexity the same question and look at its citations. Then correct the source, not just your own site.
Keep checking
Errors creep back when listings are edited. Weekly tracking catches them early, which is what our plans do.
