How Claude recommends hotels, restaurants and cafés
Updated By Akkrev
Claude can search the web before it answers. What it looks at when someone asks for a place to stay or eat, and how to check what it says about you.
Claude, made by Anthropic, can search the web when a question needs current information, such as where to stay or eat. Like other assistants, it then names a few places and explains why.
What Claude looks for
Claude reads the pages its search returns: guides, listings, review pages and business websites. It tends to favour places that are described clearly and consistently, and to say when information may be out of date.
What helps
- Plain-text facts on your website: location, prices, hours, policies.
- Consistent details across your site and listings.
- Coverage in sources that write about your area.
Allowing it to read your site
Anthropic’s crawlers identify themselves by name. If your robots.txt or firewall blocks them, Claude learns about you from other sites instead. Our AI crawler check shows which AI crawlers your site lets in.
Check what it says
Ask Claude the questions your guests ask. Note who it names and the sources it cites.
