What is an agent card?
Updated By Akkrev
An agent card is a small published file in the Agent2Agent protocol that describes what an AI agent does and how other agents can reach it.
An agent card is how an AI agent introduces itself to other agents under the Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol. It’s a small machine-readable file, usually published at a known address on the agent owner’s domain, that lists the agent’s name, what it can do, the inputs it accepts and how to connect to it.
Think of it as a business card for software. A guest’s personal agent that finds a hotel’s agent card could, in principle, ask the hotel’s own agent for availability or a quote instead of operating the website.
Do hotels need one?
Not yet. Very few independent hotels run their own booking agent, and few consumer agents look for agent cards when booking travel today. Most agents still use hotel websites, booking engines or OTA connections. Agent cards are worth watching, especially if booking engine vendors start publishing them on hotels’ behalf.

Why it matters for AI visibility
Agent cards describe what a service can do for agents. For most hotels, restaurants and cafés, clear facts on the website and Google matter far more today.
