What does closed to arrival (CTA) mean?
Updated By Akkrev
Closed to arrival means guests can't check in on a given date, even if rooms are free. Holiday let changeover days work the same way and can confuse agents.
Closed to arrival (CTA) is a restriction that stops new bookings from arriving on a particular date. Guests already in-house can stay through it, and a stay that started earlier can include it, but no one can check in that day. Its mirror image is closed to departure (CTD).
Holiday lets apply the same idea through changeover days: arrivals only on Fridays or Saturdays, for example.
Why it confuses agents
An agent asked for “Wednesday to Sunday” may find Wednesday unavailable without being told why. If the booking engine doesn’t explain that Wednesday is closed to arrival and suggest Friday, the agent concludes there’s no availability. A person might try other dates; an agent working to the guest’s exact request usually moves on.

Why it matters for AI visibility
Restrictions like CTA can make AI think you’re unavailable, which can drop you from date-specific answers.
