How to get your hotel recommended by ChatGPT
Updated By Akkrev
Improve your hotel's published facts, inspect AI answers and test direct booking links. Practical steps for owners, with clear limits on what can be promised.
1. Choose the questions you should win
“Dog-friendly hotel in the Lake District”, “boutique hotel in Bath for an anniversary”, “hotel near the NEC with parking”. Write down five to ten.
2. Get your facts consistent everywhere
Name, address, phone, star rating, parking, pets, breakfast and check-in should match across your website, Google profile, Booking.com, Expedia and TripAdvisor. Disagreement makes AI less confident.
3. Make your website readable
Rooms, facilities and policies in plain text on normal pages, not only inside the booking engine or in images. Use plain room descriptions alongside creative room names.
4. Answer guests’ questions on your site
Pages for your area, events, occasions and practical questions (“Can I park?”, “Are dogs allowed in rooms?”) give AI something to quote.
5. Complete your Google Business Profile
Gemini and Google’s AI answers lean on it heavily: category, attributes, photos, Q&A and reviews.
6. Earn coverage
Inspect the sources in saved answers to see which guides, travel publications or listings are relevant to your questions. Consider genuine coverage opportunities; do not assume every guest question uses the same sources.
7. Make your own booking link the obvious one
Make your room and booking pages useful to a guest, with a clear link to your own booking engine. This helps someone take the next step, but you cannot control whether an assistant links you or an OTA. Test your deep booking links too.
8. Track weekly
Run comparable questions and keep the answers and sources. Our plans automate weekly API samples and suggest next steps. Grow and Scale add article drafts and supported WordPress publishing. You manage third-party profiles and listings yourself. Use the hotel checklist and read the measurement limits before interpreting a score.
