How to do GEO (generative engine optimisation) for a hotel
Updated By Akkrev
GEO for hotels in practice: the questions to target, the sources to fix, the pages to publish and how to measure progress across AI assistants.
GEO is the same goal as AI SEO: being named in AI answers. For a hotel it breaks down into five jobs.
1. Build your question set
List the questions guests ask by area, occasion, feature and event. 25 to 50 is a good start. This is what you’ll measure.
2. Baseline
Ask each question to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude. Record mentions, position, competitors and cited sources.
3. Fix the sources AI cites
For hotels these are usually Google, Booking.com, Expedia, TripAdvisor and a few local guides. Make sure each one describes you correctly and completely.
4. Publish answers
Pages on your own site that answer the questions in your set: the area, events, occasions, policies. Plain text, clear headings, real detail.
5. Measure weekly
Track share of voice over time. Expect noise from week to week, and look at the trend over a month or two.
Our Grow plan samples 50 guest questions each week, shows answers and sources, suggests next steps and prepares two article drafts per month. Supported WordPress publishing requires approval or explicit automatic consent. You manage third-party profiles yourself. See how the samples are measured.
