Can AI agents book hotels that use Guestline?

Every Guestline hotel in the pilot reached a room list with prices. The modern Guestline booking app accepted dates passed in the web address and showed room names and prices as plain text. The weakest step was finding the booking link from some homepages, not the engine itself.

Guestline is a UK hotel software company whose products include the Rezlynx property management system and an online booking engine, alongside a channel manager, payments and guest tools. The Access Group announced its acquisition of Guestline in July 2023, describing a platform used by more than 2,900 venues in 23 countries.
Guestline is common among independent and small-group hotels in the UK, from country inns to city hotels, which makes it one of the most important engines for AI agent bookings in the UK market.
What the pilot found
All seven Guestline hotels in our 20 October pilot passed, with an average score of 10.7 out of 12. The modern Guestline booking app, at booking.eu.guestline.app, did three things that matter to agents:
- It accepted arrival and departure dates passed in the web address.
- It showed room names and prices as plain text.
- It didn’t show any CAPTCHA or sign-in wall in our runs.
Where hotels lost points, it was usually before the engine: some homepages didn’t show the agent a direct link to the booking engine, and one hotel’s booking app took about ten seconds to load inside the page after the “Book a stay” button was clicked.
A finding outside the engine
One Guestline hotel scored well for bookability but blocks around 20 AI crawlers in its robots.txt, including ChatGPT-User and PerplexityBot. An agent could book it; an AI assistant researching where to stay may struggle to read its site. Bookability and visibility are separate checks.
What to check if your hotel uses Guestline
- From your homepage, is there a plain link to the Guestline booking app, or only a button that opens it after a script runs?
- Does your website’s robots.txt or security service block AI crawlers or agents?
- Do the room names in your engine say what the room is (bed type, view, size), or only a marketing name?
What this means for AI recommendations
Guestline powers many UK independents and small groups. For AI visibility, consistent facts across your site, Google and listings matter more than the engine.
