Akkrev vs DirectBooker: AI booking audit or AI distribution?
Updated By Akkrev
DirectBooker feeds hotels' live rates into ChatGPT and Claude through MCP. Akkrev makes sure AI agents can book the hotel's own website.
DirectBooker and Akkrev both want independent hotels to win direct bookings from AI. They work at different points in the guest’s journey, and many hotels could benefit from both.
This comparison focuses on Akkrev’s separate hotel agent booking service. Its main product is weekly AI search visibility software. The booking audit identifies blockers; setup work and monitoring have separate scopes and prices.
What DirectBooker does
DirectBooker routes hotels’ live availability, rates and inventory into AI assistants. It has an app in ChatGPT and a connector on Claude using the Model Context Protocol. When a traveller asks where to stay, DirectBooker can show the hotel’s current price and a direct booking link, and the guest finishes the booking on the hotel’s official website. Its partners include large hotel groups such as BWH Hotels and Radisson, and technology providers including SiteMinder, eviivo, Cendyn, Mirai and Roiback. In the UK it has worked with 80 DAYS on a beta for independent hotels using a DerbySoft feed.
What Akkrev does
Akkrev starts on the hotel’s own website. We send real AI agents, such as ChatGPT agent and Gemini in Chrome, to book a room there and record where they get stuck, then fix the website, booking flow and facts agents rely on, usually without changing the booking engine, and re-test monthly.
The difference in one line
DirectBooker helps AI assistants show a hotel’s live price and direct link. Akkrev’s separate booking service tests the path a guest or agent encounters after landing on the hotel’s site and scopes the changes it needs.
When each fits
- If you want your live rates inside ChatGPT or Claude and your tech stack is supported, a distribution product like DirectBooker is worth a look.
- If agents already reach your site but end up on Booking.com or Expedia, or you’re not sure whether they can book you at all, start with an AI booking audit.
- A direct link only helps if what’s behind it works for agents.

DirectBooker’s ChatGPT and Claude launch was reported by Travolution in May 2026; the 80 DAYS beta was announced in January 2026.
Where AI visibility fits
Akkrev’s main service is now AI visibility: weekly sampled model answers, cited sources, suggested next steps and website article drafts. Agent booking work is a second service for hotels.
